Mr Shalaby is a consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Surgeon based in Edinburgh since 2009. He completed his orthopaedic training in Cairo & Edinburgh. He finished advanced fellowships in Liverpool & Nottingham. His NHS practice is based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh as part of the world – renowned orthopaedic unit there. His UK private practice is based at the Spire Murrayfield hospital in Edinburgh and the Nuffield Edinburgh clinic.

Mr Shalaby has a great interest in research and teaching. He is an educational and clinical supervisor for orthopaedic trainees in the South – East of Scotland , a reviewer in several international Orthopaedic Journals , an expert witness for personal injury and medical negligence cases and he also serves on the consultant speaker bureau of several international orthopaedic companies.
